Short Biography

Mainul Hossain received his B.Sc. degree in Applied Physics, Electronics, and Communication Engineering from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2009 and his M.S and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Central Florida (UCF), Orlando, FL, USA, in 2012. He was a recipient of UCF’s Nano-Science Technology Center (NSTC) graduate fellowship award (2009-2012).

Dr. Hossain worked as a Principal Engineer in the Advanced Module Engineering (AME) group at GlobalFoundries, US Inc., in Malta, NY, USA (2012-2017) where he was responsible for developing state-of-the-art metrology techniques for characterizing next generation (7 nm and beyond) CMOS processes. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Hossain was also selected as one of the 500 young researchers worldwide to represent Bangladesh Academy of Sciences in the 58th Lindau Meeting of the Nobel Laureates. He holds 1 US Patent and has co-authored 1 book chapter, and more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles with about 800 scholarly citations (h-index=15 and i-index=16). He has presented his work in numerous conferences, both as an invited speaker as well as the lead contributory author.
