Short Biography
Dr. Md. Azizul Haque earned his graduation (B.Sc. Hons.) and M. Sc. (Thesis) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Rajshahi in 2008 and 2010. He was awarded a Ph.D. in Applied Life Sciences from the Gyeongsang National University, South Korea in 2014.
After that, Dr. Haque started his professional life as a post-doctoral researcher at the Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology, South Korea. In 2016, he came back to Bangladesh and started working as an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at HSTU, Dinajpur. Dr. Haque has published a total of 35 original research articles in different international peer-reviewed journals and 4 articles in regional journals. Meanwhile, he completed 18 MS student supervisions in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department of HSTU. He discovered a new enzyme named cellulose microfibril swelling enzyme and its colorimetric assay method. Currently, he is doing research on the genomics and diversity of extremophilic endophytic bacteria harboring pesticide mineralization, antibiotic production, and plant (rice, tomato, and eggplant) growth with less application of agrochemicals in epiphytic conditions. His current goals are to develop efficient bioethanol/biofuel production technology and bioremediation-based biofertilizer to promote the sustainable development of Bangladesh.
