Short Biography

Shekh M M Islam (Member, IEEE) received the BSc (Hons) and MSc degree in electrical and electronic engineering fro the University of Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2012 and 2014, respectively. He also received a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, HI, USA, with a focus on biomedical applications incorporating RF/Microwave technologies in December 2020. From 2014 to 2016, he worked as a Lecturer with the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, University of Dhaka.

Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh. His research interests include radar systems, antenna array signal processing, adaptive filter technique, and machine learning classifiers for pattern recognition. In Summer 2019, he also worked as a Radar System and Applications Engineering intern with ON semiconductor, Phoenix, AZ, USA. Dr. Islam has also been serving as an affiliate member of the technical committee of the MTT-28 Biological Effects and Medical Applications of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Technique Society. He was a recipient of the 2020 University of Hawaii at Manoa Department of Electrical Engineering research excellence award. He was also the student paper finalist at IEEE Radio Wireless Week (RWW’19) conference, which was held in FL, USA. He has also been serving as an Editorial Board member of Frontiers in Physiology journal and a review editor of IEEE Access, IEEE Sensors, IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, MDPI Sensors, Frontiers in Sensors, and Frontiers in Communication and Network journals
