Short Biography

Md. Simul Bhuyan completed his BSc and MSc from the Institute of Marine Sciences, University of Chittagong. Now, he is working as a Scientific Officer at Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute. He has nine years of research experience. He published over 70 journal articles and 2 books including Elsevier and Springer. Recently one of his book chapters on Blue Economy was accepted by Routledge Publisher.

Mr. Bhuyan is interested in working on marine and freshwater environments. He is interested in working on seaweed, coral, water, and sediment. He has a great fascination with heavy metals and micro-plastics research. He loves to work in collaboration. His current project is ” Experimental Cultivation of Seaweed on Cox’s Bazar Coast “. A book will be published on “Seaweed of the St. Martin’s Island, Bangladesh” very soon. Another book will be published on “The glossary of Seaweed“. Another book will be published in “Corals of the St. Martin’s Island”. He is working on “Heavy metals contamination of seaweed: A global review” and writing “Pictorial Dictionary of Oceanography”.
